walking with moms in need
Walking with Moms in Need is a nationwide, parish-based initiative to increase support for pregnant and parenting mothers in need. It works to ensure that any woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, or parenting in difficult circumstances, can turn to her local Catholic Church and be connected with the resources she needs. Volunteers walk with moms throughout the motherhood journey, offering them authentic Christian friendship and ongoing support.
The Walking with Moms in Need ministry has two main goals:
Create an online St. Brigid resource hub for parish staff, parishioners, and the broader community.
Identify gaps in support and develop a St. Brigid Parish Response to better serve pregnant and parenting mothers.
St. Brigid specific implementation planning dates are Jan 2026 - Jun 2027. There are five phases to implementation. Our St Brigid Parish Response relies on the St. Brigid parishioner family to actively participate in the decision and commitment to service pregnant and parenting mothers in our midst.
Refer to the image below for the details of each phase. Key timeframes to watch the bulletin for dates so that you can provide valuable input are:
Phase III: Parish wide meeting to inform & obtain feedback
Phase IV: Parish wide meeting to announce Parish Response
