Dear Parishioners,

As part of our mission of Unity in Christ, Renewal of Faith, and Charitable Service, St. Brigid Parish has begun the process of forming a new Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) in accordance with the vision of Renew My Church and the guidance of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Many parishioners have already participated by recommending possible mem-bers for the new council. Thank you for your prayerful support and involvement in this important process.

To assist with the formation of the PPC, a six-member Preparation Group has been established:

  • Rosa Reyes-Prosen

  • Gerard Metoyer

  • Amy Mally

  • Martina Grzelak

  • Phil Tobin

The role of the Preparation Group is to assist with communication, organization, and discernment as the new council is formed.

The Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative and advisory body that assists the pastor in discerning the pastoral needs and future direction of the parish. The PPC focuses especially on:

  • evangelization and discipleship

  • parish unity and participation

  • hospitality and belonging

  • listening to the voice of parishioners

  • long-term pastoral vision and planning

The council is not a governing board or finance committee, but rather a prayerful body that helps the pastor discern where God is leading the parish.

The next steps in the process will include:

  • reviewing recommended names

  • inviting selected individuals to an information and discernment meeting

  • prayerful discernment of members

  • orientation and formation of the new council

Please continue to pray for this process, that the Holy Spirit may guide our parish in wisdom and unity.

May St. Brigid intercede for our parish and all who are being called to serve.

In Christ,

Fr. Wojciech Oleksy
Pastor
