Welcome to the School of Religious Education (SRE) of St. brigid Parish

The St. Brigid Parish School of Religious Education supports the mission of the parish by working with parents in helping to form the next generation of disciples.  Children begin or deepen their relationship with Christ and learn the teachings of Christ and His Church.

The School of Religious Education (SRE) fosters the faith formation of children in K through 8th grade. Our class sessions are traditionally held Sunday mornings starting with the 8am Mass and then having class together from 9:15-10:45. Sacramental classes (for those working on sacraments in grades other than those normally associated with the sacrament being earned) are Sundays, 8:00am-11:45am (including 8am Mass).

Students are expected to be registered in the program each year they are in school.  Children who skip years are missing important background and will be at a disadvantage when they rejoin the program.

Second graders focus on Reconciliation and First Communion - both sacraments will be received in second grade. Preparation for Confirmation is the heart of the 7th and 8th grades. A complete overview of the SRE curriculum is available here.

Students must have completed one full year of Catholic religious education (here at St. Brigid or elsewhere) immediately prior to beginning preparation for a sacrament.

Please contact the School of Religious Education at 847 244 4161 with any questions or for more information.
