It’s officially fall. Sadly, we’ll soon be buttoning up our houses and prepping for winter (ugh). It’s the time of year when our Food Pantry boxes will include more “comfort foods.” Please consider these items when you shop for your food donations. Please be sure to check the “use by” dates before donating.
-Hot and cold cereal—including single-serve packages of oatmeal
-Pancake mix and syrup
-Pasta or noodles and spaghetti sauce
-Canned fruits and vegetables, tuna, canned chicken
-Macaroni and cheese or Hamburger Helper
-Peanut butter and Jelly
-Canned meals (SpaghettiOs, Chef Boyardee Ravioli, Hormel, Dinty Moore, etc.)
-Instant potatoes or stuffing mix and rice
-Canned soup, crackers and Jiffy Corn Bread mix
-Hot chocolate packets
-Toiletries--bar soap, toothpaste, shampoo
Local gardeners may see a “last hurrah” in their garden plots. If you still have surplus produce, please think of donating your bounty to the Food Pantry. You may drop off your “crops” during Food Pantry hours—Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to Noon (at the Parish Office). Please do not put fresh foods in the giveaway boxes at the Church.
Our Parish plays a vital role in being the hands and feet of Christ, reaching out to the less fortunate. Thank you for your donations, support and prayers.
