Simbang Gabi, December 15 at 5:00 PM
For Filipino Catholics, Simbang Gabi is an expression of their undying devotion to Mary, the Mother of God. Traditionally, Christmas Day in the Philippines is ushered in by the nine-day dawn Masses that start on December 16. These masses are also considered as a novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Catholic faithful. The Simbang Gabi Mass, which usually focuses on how one becomes prepared for Christmas, is celebrated in commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Food is an important part of Simbang Gabi.
These days are a time of incessant dining rather than fasting and spending time with amily, friends and relatives. Join us for Simbang Gabi at the 5 PM Mass in the Main Church on Saturday December 15. Please bring a non-perishable food item and place it in the cart in the Narthex.
If you would like, please bring a dessert to share with the community for the reception after Mass. We are also asking for volunteers to help with setting up the Boehm Center at 1 PM on Saturday, December 15.
