The goal of SPRED is to help the children and adults with disabilities develop an awareness of God in their lives; an awareness of themselves as persons of dignity who are loved by God; an awareness of themselves as an integral part of the parish community and the entire church. 

To accomplish this we need a team of 8 volunteers.  These volunteers agree to welcome 6 friends with special needs.

 

The SPRED group at St. Patrick's is a 6 -10 year old group.  However, within a 15 mile radius or less we have other groups at other parishes with age groups of 11-17 years and 17-21 years and finally 22+. If you are interested in sharing your love and faith with persons with special needs please call Linda Schueneman at 847-662-6620. We need volunteers 21 or older - no prior experience with persons with disabilities is needed.
