What people are saying about LOTW:

I stepped through the doors of my first retreat completely broken and desperate for healing, yet I've attended every retreat since and I can't think of a better way to glorify God.   Luke 17:15-16 And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.  He was a Samaritan.

As someone who has made an annual retreat since I was ordained, I was very happy to begin the Light of the World Retreat at St. Pat’s. Yet I fear that some may think that retreats are only for clergy, religious or those who are “holy”. These weekends are designed for people who lead ordinary lives. It is an opportunity to invest a little more time and energy into our faith. I believe that those who make that investment will “reap more than they have sown” to quote someone who knows something about faith!   I hope you will consider taking this opportunity and join us.

"I have to admit I wasn't anticipating anything more than some interesting information when I registered for this retreat.  But it was so much more than that for me.  I can't begin to tell you how moved I was by this experience.  I came away from it with a full heart.  More importantly, a feeling of belonging in my faith that I didn't think I could have again."

Frequently asked questions:

Is it required to attend all the days of the retreat?

I am not a member of St. Patrick's Parish.  Can I attend the retreat?

My faith is important to me but I am concerned that attending a retreat for a whole weekend is just too much.  I really don't want to get stuck listening for hours to boring religious stuff.  Is Light of the World for me?

Is there special preparation necessary for the retreat?  Do I need to take notes or bring other study materials?

I have someone at home with special needs.  What if I have an urgent need at home during the retreat?

I see that the retreat starts on Friday and ends on Monday.  I sometimes do not get home from work until dinner time.  When does the retreat start on these days and are meals provided?.

I am interested in attending, however my wife is Catholic but I am not.  Can I attend?
