Financial Update from Finance Committee & Bill Buholzer, Chris
Kunzman
Bill Buholzer and our Parish Business Manager, Chris Kunzman gave a nice presentation on the Parish Budget for the new fiscal year and compared it to last year’s numbers. The Finance Committee has planned a conservative and responsible budget. The budget assumes that the weekly contributions will total $18,600. There has been very little allocated to the savings accounts this year. If we receive monies in excess of the projected weekly contributions this could be put toward savings. The total annual expenses for for 2007/08 will be $3,272,254.
Bill and Chris reviewed the
Finance Committee’s concern that we potentially do not have enough money saved
for future maintenance and other facility needs.
Bill and Chris indicated that we will most likely needs funds to replace
the heating and air conditioning units of the new church in the near future.
The carpeting in the new church will also need to be replaced, and we are
also looking at having to re-pave the parking lot.
Bill and Chris presented the
status of the Old Church repairs. A
decision has been made to repair the ceiling using dry wall as opposed to
plaster. The dry wall is less expensive than the plaster method. As indicated previously, the contractor as they have started
the work, has uncovered the need to replace old cloth covered wiring and to
install new circuits for the lights. The
old lights would also need to be rewired. It
was decided to purchase new lights as this is nearly equivalent to the cost of
re-wiring. New fans will also be
installed. A 120 volt outlet was
discovered to be at 208V. This will
be fixed as well. The Archdioceses
is inspecting the work at least twice a week.
The pews will also be refinished and new kneelers will be installed.
We had a discussion on ways to
generate more review for the parish. This
led to a discussion for creating a strategic and long term plan for the Parish
and it’s ministries. This will be
a focus of future Parish Council meetings and sub-committee meetings.
We also discussed how often we
want to promote the Planned Offering Program that we did in November of 2005.
If we want to do it in November of 2007 we need to know by May if we are
going to do it or not.

Ministry Liaison Assignments
Parish Life
Care and Out Reach
Education
Worship & Spiritual Life
John reviewed the ministries in each of the four broad
categories. The council will divide themselves up to be liaisons to each of
four ministery categories. We also discussed having a meeting with
represenatitives from all of the
minisitries so that each ministry could review their ministry and their
objectives. This would also be a
forum for promoting the long term strategy for the parish. The council members will review the ministry groups then
indicate at the next Council meeting for which they would like to be liaisons.
Deanery
Meeting Representative
The Council needs to select a Deanery Meeting Representative to attend
the every other month Deanery meeting. This
could also be done on a rotating basis.
Meeting Schedule for next fall 2007 and 2008
The Council agreed to continue to have the Parish Pastoral Council
Meetings on the first Tuesday of January, March, May, September, and November
for 2007.

place in Dyer Hall on Holy Thursday. The
Boehm Center will be used for Easter Mass.

the Easter Egg Hunt, and face painting will be held on April 14th
from 12-2pm.
The Parish will undergo a financial
audit by Archiocese between April 30 and May 3rd.
Vicariate 1, which includes
Deaneries A & B, will be divided into six deanearies instead of two.
There will now be approximately 8 parishes in each new Deanery as opposed
to twenty-five.
